| UF Welcome Center The UF Welcome Center is located in the J. Wayne Reitz Union, the community center or "front door" to the university. The Reitz Union houses the UF Bookstore and these facilities: Career Resource Center, Center for Student Involvement, Office of Student Affairs, Office of Community Service, Office of Sorority and Fraternity Affairs, the Travel and Recreation Program, a food court, meeting and dining facilities, a 36-room hotel, retail stores, entertainment area and an arts and crafts center.
University Auditorium The University Auditorium was completed in 1924 and seats 867 for concerts, convocations and special lectures. The auditorium's hammerbeam ceiling features carvings of a scholar, musician, engineer and an athlete. The spacious interior and elaborate wood carvings of the auditorium create the perfect setting for the Anderson Memorial Pipe Organ, one of the major instruments of its kind in the Southeast.
Turlington Hall and Plaza Opened in 1977, Turlington Hall houses most of the administrative offices for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, UF's largest college that offers majors in social, biological and physical sciences, as well as mathematics and humanities. Turlington Plaza is one of two major free-speech zones on campus and is a great place to learn more about campus organizations from the many information booths that are set up at this location. The oddly shaped chert rock in the plaza is 30 million years old and weighs 10 tons. It was donated to the UF Geology Department by the Crushed Stone Corporation.
Criser and Peabody Halls The Marshall Criser Student Services Center houses the Admissions and Registrar's offices. The Office of Student Employment, where students apply for a work permit, and University Financial Services, where students pay tuition, also are in Criser Hall. Peabody Hall, which is linked to Criser Hall, houses the Dean of Students Office, the University Counseling Center and Student Financial Affairs.
The Historic District The northeastern area of the UF campus is listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places. The beautiful brick construction of these original buildings showcases traditional Gothic architecture and exemplifies UF's campus appeal. The residence halls in the Murphree Area (Buckman, Fletcher, Murphree, Sledd and Thomas) are the oldest campus buildings, dating back to 1906. The historic charm of this area helps make these halls some of the most requested residence facilities.
Smathers Libraries There are nine major libraries on the campus that form the largest information resource system available in the state of Florida. They include Architecture and Fine Arts Library, Education Library, Health Science Center Library, the Allen Neuharth Journalism Library, Legal Information Center, Library East and West, Marston Science Library, and the Music Library. Newly renovated Library West is equipped with the latest in technology for data retrieval, research and studying. Library East, which opened in 1926, houses the Latin American Collection, ranked among the finest in the world, and the Special Collections of the university.
Plaza of the Americas The Plaza of the Americas is a great place for students to relax between classes and serves as the university's official forum where students and organizations may peacefully present ideas. The plaza is designated a "Green Area" where there can be no construction. The brick walkway that runs through the plaza is called the "Friendship Walk" and was constructed during Stephen C. O'Connell's presidency in 1967. Students laid bricks to create the path, symbolizing the diversity of the student body.

| Baughman Center The Baughman Center is open for private contemplation on weekdays. On weekends, it often hosts private events such as weddings and memorial services.
The Baughman Center consists of two separate buildings: a 1,500 square foot pavilion and a 1,000 square foot administrative building. The pavilion has fixed bench seating that accommodates 96 people. The exterior walls are made of natural Florida cypress stained to reflect its natural surroundings and grooved vertically to represent individual tree trunks. The roof system is fabricated of tongue-and-groove yellow pine and copper to reflect the ancient materials of medieval cathedrals. The front door is reminiscent of ancient gothic doorways and is comprised of maple with inlaid gothic patterns in cherry and an ornamental architrave of crenellated mahogany.
The interior materials are painted structural steel and stained southern yellow pine planking. The pavilion is oriented so that the dominant axis coincides with sunrise and sunset at the summer solstice. The building’s cross-section is reminiscent of ancient basilican cathedrals, complete with three aisles and a sloping roof. The floor is made of three shades of travertine marble arranged in a geometric pattern based on the building’s structure, a device reminiscent of the ancient cathedrals after which it was patterned. The administrative building contains a staff office, conference room, men and women’s restroom facilities and the mechanical room for both buildings. http://performingarts.ufl.edu/venues/baughman-center/
Curtis M. Phillips Center he lights dim, the curtain rises and a quiet air of excitement settles over the audience at the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Each season, University of Florida Performing Arts presents the very best established and emerging national and international artists on the Phillips Center main stage.
In 2000, retired Jacksonville surgeon Dr. Curtis M. Phillips provided The Barbara J. and Curtis M. Phillips M.D. Endowment Fund to name the performing arts center.
Since opening its doors in January 1992 with three sold-out performances of CATS, the Phillips Center has hosted performers as diverse as Tony Bennett, Itzhak Perlman, RIVERDANCE, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Ray Charles, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Alison Krauss, STOMP, Yo-Yo Ma, David Sedaris, Bolshoi Ballet, Wynton Marsalis, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and Capitol Steps. In recent years, the Phillips Center has hosted world premieres and been home to productions of AEROS and The People of the Forest as they mounted new, collaborative works.
The Phillips Center consists of a 1,700-seat proscenium hall and the 180-seat Squitieri Studio Theatre. It is located in the University of Florida Cultural Plaza near the intersection of 34th Street and Hull Road with convenient access from I-75 at the Archer Road and Newberry Road exits. http://performingarts.ufl.edu/venues/phillips-center/
